3. Field of research: Special Needs Education(Pedagogy and Psychology)
4. Qualifications:
(1) Those who have Doctor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent research achievements, especially in developmental disabilities, and
educational abilities
NB: The candidate should be able to provide research guidance in the United Graduate School's doctoral program in the future.
(2) It is desirable to have practical experience (consultation, etc.) in developmental support at school sites such as elementary, junior high, high
schools, and/or special support schools
(3) Those who can establish good relationships with school sites and related institutions, and actively engage in practical training guidance and
educational research
(4) Those who can actively engage in business such as university management and social contribution
(5) Japanese ability necessary to perform duties at Naruto University of Education, no matter what the successful candidate`s nationality may
be
5. Courses to teach:
Graduate courses:
Contemporary Educational Issue and Support in Special Needs Education, Field-work of School Educational Projects(Special Needs
Education), Internship Advanced(Special Needs Education), Studies on Educational Practice(Special Needs Education), Association
between Psychology and Education in Special Needs Education, etc.
Undergraduate courses:
Basic Seminar in Practice of Special Needs Education, Practical Seminar for the Teaching Profession, Practice in specialized courses for Special
Needs Education,Practice for Special Needs Education, Graduation Study, etc.
6. Date of Employment: April 1, 2023
7. Length of Contract: The initial contract is for five years, with the possibility of tenure.
(The mandatory retirement age is 65.)

school settings, and a plan for teaching and research at Naruto University of Education in Japanese (approximately 2,000 characters)

12. Additional information:
(1) The application materials will not be returned. If the applicant wishes to have them returned, he/she must request so beforehand. The

(2) In principle, finalists will be invited for interviews with a teaching demonstration at Naruto University of Education. Finalists’ expenses for
travel and accommodation for interviews will not be reimbursed.
(3) Naruto University of Education has a policy for recruitment in which the decision is not to be influenced by applicants’ nationality or gender.
In cases where two or more finalists are equal in qualifications and achievements, the university will give preference to female applicants.
(4) Even if the successful candidate is a local government employee prior to employment at the university, the university will not count his or her
years of service as a local government employee in the calculation of his or her retirement allowance from the university.
