                 Position Opening for Associate Professor or Lecturer

 

1. Affiliation: Advanced Practice of School Education (School Subjects Education), Japanese Education

 

2. Job type and the number of positions: One full-time Associate Professor or Lecturer

 

3. Field of research: Japanese literature (Modern literature)

 

4. Qualifications:

(1) Doctoral degree or the equivalent research achievements, and educational abilities

   *It is desirable to be able to take charge of the research guidance of the United Graduate School doctoral course in the future.

(2) This is a person who can go to primary school, junior high school, or senior high school and work with teachers on education and research.

(3) This is a person who can actively engage in university administration, social contribution, and other tasks.

(4) We Accept all nationalities. However, they must have the Japanese language skills necessary to perform their duties.

 

5. Courses to teach:

Graduate courses:

Seminar on Material Development for Teaching Language and Culture (Japanese Language)

Classroom Instruction and Lesson Design for Teaching Language for Communication (Japanese Language)

Cross-Curricular Units and Program : Focusing on Language, Culture, and Society

Education Classes for practical training etc.

*As a rule, postgraduate courses are taught by more than one teacher.

Undergraduate courses:

Introduction to Japanese Literature (including Japanese Literary History),

Japanese Literature I,  Special Lecture on Japanese Literature I,

Practical Works in Japanese Language and Literature I (Japanese Literature),

Practical Works in Japanese Literature,  

Basic Seminar in the Practice of Primary and Secondary Education Ⅲ,

Graduation Study etc.

 

6. Date of Employment: October 1, 2022

 

7. Length of Contract: Initial contract is for five years. (Apply the specified annual salary system)

          Permanent employment if reappointed after tenure review.

(2) List of professional achievements (using the designated form)

(3) Five principal publications (books and/or articles); originals, offprints, or photocopies

 A summary of each of these in Japanese (approximately 200 characters) is required.

(4) Aspirations for the new post (approximately 1,200 characters in Japanese)

12. Additional information:

(1)  It is suggested that the successful applicant should dwell in the vicinity of Naruto after employed.

(2)  As a rule, submitted documents will not be returned. If the applicant wishes to have them returned, he/she must request so beforehand.

(3) In principle, finalists will be invited for interviews with a teaching demonstration at Naruto University of Education. Finalists’ expenses for

     travel and accommodation for interviews will not be reimbursed.

(4)  Naruto University of Education has a policy for recruitment in which the decision is not to be influenced by applicants’ nationality or gender.

      In cases where two or more finalists are equal in qualifications and achievements, the university will give preference to female applicants.

(5) Even if the successful candidate is a local government employee prior to employment at the university, the university will not count his or

     her years of service as a local government employee in the calculation of his or her retirement allowance from the university.
