                  Position Opening for Lecturer or Associate Professor 

 

 

1. Affiliation:     School of Human Education, Clinical Psychology Course, Psychology and Educational Science 

 

2. Job type and the number of positions: One full-time Lecturer or Associate Professor

 

3. Field of research: Developmental Psychology 

 

4. Qualifications:

 (1) Doctorate or the equivalent research achievements in the field concerned, and educational abilities.
    NB: The successful candidate is expected to teach the Ph.D. program at the Joint Graduate School in the near future.

 (2)  Research achievements regarding the preventive education (psychoeducation), and to take charge of its education

     and research. Research is desirable to be evidence-based.

 (3) Knowledge of statistics necessary for education and research on psychology, and the ability to use relevant statistical applications.

 (4) It is desirable to have a Certified Public Psychologist, Clinical Developmental Psychologist, or School Psychologist.

 (5) Experiences in giving classes in the field of psychology at university and other schools. It is desirable to have

         experiences in giving similar classes at graduate school.

   (6) It is desirable to have experiences in giving or assisting classes on the preventive education (psychoeducation) at elementary and junior high schools.

   (7) Active participation in university operations and professional contributions to society.

   (8) Japanese ability necessary to perform duties at Naruto University of Education, irrespective of the successful candidate’s nationality.

 

5. Courses to teach:

 Undergraduate courses:  Educational Psychology(including Developmental Psychology) , and others

 Graduate courses:  Studies in Psychological Development and Creation of Education, Seminar in Psychological Development and Creation of Education,

                                   Studies in Psychological and Educational Science, Seminar in Psychological and Educational Science, Seminar in Measurement

                                   and Assessment for Psychological and Educational Science, Seminar in Development and Implementation of Prevention Education,

                                   Independent Studies, and others

 

6. Date of Employment: April 1, 2024

 

7. Length of Contract, etc.:  The initial contract is for five years, with the possibility of tenure. 

                                      (The mandatory retirement age is 65.)

 (3) Three principal publications (books and/or articles); originals, offprints, or photocopies

         A summary of each of them in Japanese (approximately 200 characters) is required.

   (4) Copy of registration certificate of Certified Public Psychologist, Clinical Developmental Psychologist, or School Psychologist, if applicable.

   (5) Summary of previous research, teaching, and experience in clinical psychology activities, and aspiration of teaching and research plans

        at Naruto University of Education in Japanese (approximately 2,000 characters)

12. Additional information:

 (1)   It is suggested that the successful applicant should dwell in the vicinity of Naruto after employed.

 (2)  application materials will not be returned. If the applicant wishes to have them returned, he/she must request so beforehand.
