◆ May 27-29, 2010     Association for Psychological Science(APS)  poster presentation     Boston, U.S.A.
 
  Director Yamasaki of our center and Associate Professor Sasaki gave a presentation at the 22nd Annual Convention.
Each gave a presentation on basic research on emotions. They had lively discussions with overseas researchers.


 
◆ August 12-14, 2010     American Psychological Association     San Diego, U.S.A.
  * Center Director Yamasaki gave a poster presentation.
   Center Director Yamasaki gave a poster presentation titled, “Relationships between relational aggressiveness and sympathy in elementary school children.”Many researchers attended from the US., Finland, China, and Japan. In the session, the discussion was mainly on the relationship with bullying.
   * Center Director Yamasaki and Professor Kasai planned the symposium.
    Director Yamasaki and Researcher Matsumoto were the presenters.
 
 

The symposium was conducted with the title, “Preventive Education in Japan: What We Incorporated or Changed.” There was a lively discussion on the day of the symposium. We received many questions even after the session, indicating a high level of interest in education at our center.

  This symposium involved planning and presentations by Japanese people only. It is probably the first symposium of this type for APA. In addition, this symposium was important because the ideas of the symposium originated and were developed in Japan.

  * Our center held our independent symposium.
 

Our center held our independent symposium titled, “Introduction of Preventive Education Adaptable to Japan.” Dr. Watanabe of Hosei University and the director of our center were the planners. College faculty members and non-college teaching staff members were paired, and each pair gave a presentation on preventive education.

  The symposium was very lively with many participants.
 
* Research Assistant Ishigaki of our center gave a presentation.
 
She was the presenter at the symposium, “Theory and Reality of Consultations at Schools. She gave a presentation from the viewpoint of a former school nurse, and its content included practical education in nursing. The presentation provided a valuable opportunity for many attendees.

   * Our center-sponsored workshop was held
 

* Our center-sponsored workshop was held with the title, “School Assessment in the Implementation of Psychological Health Education and Preventive Education.”Dr. Shimada of Waseda University and the director of our center were the planners. The presenters were teachers who are active in the forefront of preventive education in Japan.

  Lively discussions were held with many participants, and the session was very meaningful in improving future preventive education at our center.
