| Our center performs the following four major undertakings: |
| ◆ Program development and implementation |
|
Preventive education (TOP SELF) performed at schools is divided into comprehensive base education and partial optional education. Comprehensive base education is education to comprehensively prevent problems related to children’s health and adjustment. In elementary schools, many grade levels receive comprehensive base education all year round. Partial optional education is preventive education concentrating on specific problems such as bullying and violence. It can be performed for a short period of time depending on the needs of schools. We develop and implement these two types of education. Classes become very enjoyable for children in either type of education. Of course, assessment of education is devised based on scientific evidence. |

◆ Training for teaching staff |
|
The developed programs are ultimately implemented by school teachers. Therefore, we provide a place for training school teachers (including teachers in general, school nurses, and nutrition teachers). In training, they learn about the theory of education (explained in an easy-to-understand way) as well as experience actual classes. Through this type of training, we develop personnel who will be leaders of this education. Our aim is to develop independent training especially for leaders and to implement TOP SELF in many schools. |
| ◆ Undergraduate and graduate education |

Naruto University of Education offers classes in the science of preventive education and preventive educational programs for undergraduate and graduate students. Our plan is to develop people from the time they are training to become teachers so that they can implement educational programs in the future. |

◆ Collaborative research and public relations activities |

This education is new and its scale is large.
