日本認知療法研究会の設立に当たって，現在フィラデルフィアのベック研究所を主宰しておられる認知療法の父アーロン・T・ベック博士から激励のお手紙をいただくことができました。

I am delighted that you will be inaugurating the Japanese Association for Cognitive Therapy. I want to congratulate you and your colleagues for having founded this association. I am sure that bringing together the various mental health professionals who are interested in this approach to treatment will help to integrate everybody's work and I'm sure will lead to important research. I am also pleased that the first Association for Cognitive Therapy east of the United States has been established in Japan. I am sure that the group will take a leadership role, not only in the East, but throughout the world. May I wish you and the new Association for Cognitive Therapy my heartiest congratulations and high expectations for a very rewarding opportunity to disseminate cognitive therapy.
