To realize the sublation of art and science in psychotherapy, we reviewed the concept in discussing the total evaluation of drawing method. The point of this study is as follows ; The so?called “scientific attitude” is nothing but the primitive reductionism such as “the whole is equal to the sum of its parts”. Practicing drawing method, we need to get out of reductionism and comprehend the mind of our clients as “the living system” by introducing concepts with dynamics of relationship between the part and the whole. We then presented some practical ideas for the therapist’s commitment to drawing method with the attitude we discussed above.
